June 2013 SHOWT's rebuttal of TCI's comments goes to SNC

SHOWT have submitted a rebuttal of TCI's comments to SNC.  TCI criticised aspects of SHOWT's initial submission and we have now responded.  The document below was prepared by our consultants, Grover Lewis Associates Ltd, our Noise expert Lesley Oldfield and by SHOWT's Steering Committee.  It is now with SNC and they have acknowledged receipt of it.

SHOWT's Submission to SNC, March 2013.

SHOWT's formal response to TCI's planning application for 4 turbines near Hempnall was submitted to South Norfolk Council on 25 March 2013 by the SHOWT Steering Team.

One section was prepared by the expert consultants engaged by the SHOWT Steering Team and focuses on Cultural Heritage.  Our consultants are:
Grover Lewis Associates Ltd
Town Planning and Built Heritage

The SHOWT Steering Team are delighted that Grover Lewis Associates Ltd took instruction from us and are acting on our behalf.  Philip Grover and Roy Lewis have more than 30 years experience as local government conservation specialists, teachers of heritage in Higher Education and, more recently, as heritage consultants.  They have extensive experience of evaluating the impacts of wind energy proposals on heritage assets and have acted successfully as expert witnesses on behalf of objectors in a number of high-profile public inquiries.

Our Supporters will be well aware of the recent landmark High Court judgment in favour of the National Trust and English Heritage at Barnwell Manor, Northants.  It was, in fact, Grover Lewis Associates Ltd who provided expert evidence at the preceding public inquiry on behalf of local objectors and the National Trust.

The second section of SHOWT's submission was prepared by the SHOWT Steering Team with 3 sections written by local experts.
We wish to sincerely thank our local experts on behalf of all SHOWT Supporters for their very significant contributions to our case.
They are:
Lesley Oldfield BSc, author of the section on Noise
Dr Joanne Nolan MB BS MRCGP, author of "Wind Turbines and Human Health: The Potential Adverse Health Effects"
Trevor Shurmer, author "Inefficiency of Onshore Wind Energy"

Below are the 2 sections of the submission.

SHOWT Steering Team:
Hilary Battye, Chris Laxton, Pat Leate, Carolyn Moulton, Geoff Moulton (Chair)
